Villa Balbianello
Where a seventeenth‑century garden meets the still water of Lake Como — photographed by Constantin Weddings.
Villa del Balbianello · Lake Como
The most cinematic address on Lake Como, dressed for one day
Set on a wooded promontory above Lake Como, Villa Balbianello is the rarest kind of wedding venue: a private terraced garden, a loggia open to the water, and views that stretch to the mountains of Tremezzina on every side. This gallery is from a real wedding we photographed here — the real light, the real stone balustrades, the real quiet of the lake at golden hour.
Constantin Weddings photographs a small number of luxury weddings across Lake Como each season. This gallery is our love letter to Villa Balbianello, and a starting point for couples imagining their own wedding photography on its terraces.

Constantin Weddings, Lake Como
Chapter One
The Arches
Villa Balbianello's ivy-clad loggia, framed for a single silhouette.
Chapter Two
The Portrait
Every angle of Villa Balbianello reframes the bride against the lake — stone balustrades, umbrella pines, and the water beyond, always in view.
The balustrade terrace, looking toward Tremezzina.
A quiet moment, veil catching the lake breeze..
Pearls, garden roses, and the Alps beyond…
Timeless — the veil, in black and white.
Chapter Three
The Loggia
An open-air ceremony arch, dressed in blush and ivory bloom.
Chapter Four
The Embrace
Beneath the plane trees and along the water's edge, the garden becomes a backdrop for something quieter than a portrait.
A veil caught mid-air, and nowhere else to be.
Beneath the plane trees, villa in the distance.
The terrace at dusk, lake stretching toward the mountains..
Silk, satin ribbon, and garden roses.
Chapter Five
The Water's Edge
Como at its most theatrical — light on water, and little else.
Chapter Six
The Garden
Villa Balbianello's grounds are a destination in themselves — clipped topiary, marble statuary, and a vine-wrapped loggia that opens straight onto the lake.
Down the garden path, lake below.
Watching over the water, as it has for centuries.
The great three of Balbianello
Silk, satin ribbon, and garden roses.
Chapter Seven
The Table
A private dinner in the villa's open-air loggia, set for the couple's closest guests as the lake turned to dusk.
An aisle between two stone archways, dressed simply in white and green, where they said their vows.
The loggia, dressed and waiting for the toast.
Dinner beneath the arches, dressed in sage green, blush, and candlelight.
Chapter Eight
The Departure
As dusk fell, a private boat waited at the water's edge to carry them away.
Chapter Nine
The Second Look
For the reception and the ride home, she changed twice more — a sculptural feathered dress for the party, and a dramatic tulle skirt and veil for one last portrait at the water's edge.
Changed for the party, feathers and all.
One last portrait, veil catching the evening light.
Tulle and pearls, one final detail.
Waiting for the boat, tulle catching the breeze.
The villa behind her, for the very last time.
Final Frame
Off Into the Evening
The last light of the day, and the villa growing smaller behind them.
Villa Balbianello doesn't need much direction from behind the camera. It needs restraint — knowing when to put the lens down and let the lake, the light, and the architecture carry the frame.
